Released on September 3, 2010, "You Need People Like Me" by Plies is a robust entry in the Florida rapper's catalog, hosted by DJ Scream and premiered exclusively on LiveMixtapes. This mixtape sees Plies embracing his role as an unapologetic figure in hip-hop, weaving tales of street life, personal philosophy, and hustle with his characteristic raw energy and gritty lyricism.

The project opens with the "Scarface Intro," a brief but potent start that sets the tone for the mixtape, as Plies channels the audacious spirit of the iconic movie character. This is followed by "Really From Da Hood," where Plies asserts his authentic street credentials over a hard-hitting beat, setting a defiant tone for the rest of the project.

"All Out" and "Me Ho" showcase Plies's storytelling ability, with vivid lyrics that explore themes from loyalty and betrayal to complex relationships. "Do Ya Thang" encourages listeners to live unapologetically, backed by a catchy hook and vibrant production that adds a light-hearted vibe to the mixtape's early tracks.

"Why U Hate" and "Ride Dick So Good" blend bravado with humor and sexuality, typical of Plies's style, offering listeners a mix of confrontation and entertainment. "Bi Polar" is a standout track with its deeper emotional content and introspective look at personal struggles, providing a contrast to the more boastful tracks.

"Come By Yo House" and "MTF" return to the themes of street life and hustle, with Plies delivering lines that are both sharp and engaging, reinforced by compelling beats. "The Truth" and "Boosie" delve into personal loyalty and resilience, with Plies paying homage to real-life influences and reflecting on his journey.

"Need People Like Me," the title track, is a manifesto of sorts, where Plies articulates why his outspoken, bold persona is essential in the rap game, emphasizing the need for authenticity and realness in an industry full of facades.

The mixtape concludes with "Final Words," where Plies offers a reflective summary of his philosophies and the motivations behind his music, ending the project on a thoughtful note.

"You Need People Like Me" is a testament to Plies's enduring appeal in the hip-hop community, showcasing his ability to blend entertainment with introspection. The mixtape features a variety of tracks that highlight his versatility as an artist, from club bangers to thoughtful ballads, all marked by his distinctive vocal delivery and southern flair. This project not only adds depth to Plies's discography but also reinforces his role as a necessary and influential figure in the landscape of modern hip-hop.%videos
