When we are talking about hip-hop artists to keep an eye on, Major D-Star’s name has to top the list. He has arrived and deserves all the acclaim he can get.

He is back, and this time he comes with a new tantalizing jam dubbed “Roses” that has been characterized by its soulful blend of alternative R&B and hip-hop, with an emphasis on its emotional depth, captured by the powerful lyrics that pertain to giving people their flowers while they can still smell them.

Major D-Star’s introspective storytelling shines through as he reflects on the track’s inspiration through a vivid tapestry of intellectual rhymes and envisionable lyrics delivered in his typical smooth, moody, and atmospheric cadence.

The guest vocalist Lakeith Rashad contributes to the song’s R&B appeal as he paints the song’s memorable hook with his soulful and invitingly warm vocals. He sets the mellow foundation that Major D-Star steps on effortlessly, his distinctive laid-back delivery that comes off raw yet soothing and melodic, contributing to the song’s alluring appeal.

Major D-Star’s voice floats over this minimalist production that features some deep bass lines, ambient synths, and subtle beats, allowing his contemplative lyrics to take center stage. This creates an intimate and reflective listening experience, where a listener feels connected to the song’s inspiration and emotions.

“Roses” is another indisputable favorite from D-Star as he continues establishing himself as so much more than just a rapper; he is a superstar capable of making music that can compete with the best of them.
